RVA Polar Plunge Winter Fest

RICHMOND: Take the plunge for a good cause. RVA Polar Plunge Winter Fest benefiting Special Olympics Virginia, starts at noon on the Square at Willow Lawn. Plunges will take place in an above ground pool in waves beginning at 2:30 pm, with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rodney the Ram and the University of Richmond’s  WebstUR leading the way. Other plungers include Chesterfield Police Chief Thierry Dupuis, Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham, University of Richmond Police Chief David McCoy, plus student teams from All Saints Catholic School, Monacan High School, Tomahawk Creek Middle School, St. Catherine’s School, Lynchburg College and the University of Richmond.

Also taking the plunge for charity are CBS 6 Meteorologist  Nikki-Dee Ray and Traffic Reporter Kristen Luehrs, Rodney The Ram, and Nutzy the Flying Squirrel with Bill Bevins serving as guest Emcee. Plunge after party at American Tap Room starting at 4pm.
