NAYLORS BEACH, Va. -- From what they could see on television, Linda and Wayne Blake knew it was bad. But the Glen Allen couple was emotional when they arrived at their family's home at Naylors Beach Friday. The Richmond County community was hard hit by Wednesday's tornado.

"My bedroom is gone. My living room is gone," Linda Blake said.

She was thankful the tornado struck in the winter, because had it been summer, more people would have been gotten hurt.

"If it had happened at night, in the summer, we would have probably been sucked right out of bed," she said.

As it was, no deaths nor serious injuries were reported on Naylors Beach. Several homes however were destroyed.

The Blakes, whose family home was badly damaged, spent Friday trying to salvage what they could.

"It's emotional," Wayne Blake said.
