CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — There are many families who need help with the basics, like diapers for newborns.  That’s why the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Families First, a program of Chesterfield County, will hold a diaper drive during March to assist their enrolled families.

Last year, more than 3,000 diapers were collected.

“Providing basic necessities such as diapers can be a challenge for struggling families,” said Andelicia Neville, Families First program coordinator. “This diaper drive will support first-time parents enrolled in the Families First program as they continue on their journey to becoming stronger parents. And stronger families create stronger communities.”

All Chesterfield County Public Libraries will collect unopened packages of diapers during regular business hours.

Families First is a nationally accredited program of Healthy Families Virginia that provides family support services to first-time parents to ensure that children become healthy, well-adjusted individuals who are ready to start school by age five.
