Woman killed in I-295 crash in Prince George County

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — A woman was killed Friday night when her car struck a tree off of Interstate 295 north in Prince George County.

The accident occurred a little after 11:30 p.m., when a 2001 Ford F-150 ran off the road to the right, over-corrected left, then over-corrected back to the right, before running off the road and striking the tree.

The driver of the Ford, 31-year-old Timia L. Jones, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
