NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Joint Base Langley-Eustis was on lock down for about an hour after shots were reported fired, military personnel confirmed.
Around 12 p.m. Friday, people began tweeting about the situation.
Security forces were on base investigating after shots were reported fired at Fort Eustis, but there were no causalities, according to Fort Eustis personnel.
There was no investigation of an active shooter, but shots were fired outside building 650 at 11:30 a.m.
At 12:45 p.m., Fort Eustis said that normal operations had resumed and that the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
