UPDATE:  The teen’s mother posted on Facebook:  “David Spence is home thanks for helping track him down we are very grateful for all of your help and concern.”

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — The mother of a West End teenager has asked for help finding her son. David Spence, 14, ran away from his home near Skipwith Elementary school Sunday night, his mother Jennifer Rebecca Akselrod said. Spence left home after fighting with family.

“I’m worried because this is unlike him,” she said. “He was wearing shorts when he ran away last night around 9:30 p.m.”

Akselrod said her son, a student at Byrd Middle School, was wearing Navy blue gym shorts, a blue Atlee hoodie and orange Nike shoes.

“He’s probably cold. We are extremely worried and he will not be in trouble if he comes home right away,” she said.

Akselrod said a missing person’s report was filed with Henrico Police. Police said they received the missing person’s report on Monday morning.
