RICHMOND, Va. — A local advertiser put a surprising national face in their Super Bowl ad. Former nine-time World Champion boxer, Mike Tyson appeared in the ad for Michael and Son, a regional home services company based in the DC area.

In addition, Tyson’s son Amir, a local student at American University, makes his boxing debut in the commercial.

In the ad, Amir would go in the ring to face his opponent and while losing the fight, Tyson jumps saves the day in humorous fashion and knocks out the competition.

Tyson only said five words, but he made them count. “If you can’t, we can,” he said.

Watch special behind the scenes footage and outtakes of Tyson during the shoot below.

Michael and Son owner Basim Mansour explained why he chose Tyson:

“So you may be curious why we chose Mike Tyson? Why would a family owned service company have one of the most polarizing figures in sports history endorse their company? Mike is a man with many chapters to his life. Some people will choose to focus on the low points of his career. I don’t mean to get religious, but there’s a saying in the bible that goes “Whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone.” As a teenager growing up on government assistance, I admired his focus and dedication to being the greatest regardless of the challenges and adversities he faced. He was on the fast track to being a legend in the sport of boxing and inspired me to work hard to take care of my family.”

You may recall last year the company used a President Obama look-alike in their super bowl commercial.
