SAN FRANCISCO -- In the more than one million fans that swarmed downtown San Francisco each day during Super Bowl week, WTVR CBS 6 reporter Jake Burns ran into a Richmond native living in San Francisco.

"It's an awesome city, an awesome city. Can't beat the weather right?" Jamie Smith said.

Smith, who grew up in Richmond and graduated from Freeman High School, is living in San Francisco.

"Sorry you're having to deal with the snow, but y'all are free to come out here enjoy the West Coast for a little bit," he laughed. "Miss everybody back home, love you Mom!"

Smith has lived on the West Coast for about a year and is working at Google on their cutting edge Google Fiber Project

But what's the biggest difference between RVA and the bay?

"People here are very, very, very laid-back. I know that we do things at a slower pace back home too, but it's definitely a bit of a culture adjustment."

Smith said Super Bowl has been good for his new home and yes, he does have a prediction.

"Panthers," he said. "[I'm] sticking with my East Coast team -- our sister state."
