HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Sheriff's deputies in Flagler County, Florida say there is a manhunt underway for a Henrico man, who was convicted of manufacturing a controlled substance in 2015.

The Office told CBS 6, James Kent Booth and another man fled the scene of a single-car crash on Interstate 95 in Flagler County Friday.

“We received a call at 6:08 p.m. of a single vehicle crash.  People who stopped by to help the crash victims notified deputies that the three people involved in the crash fled the scene,” said the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. “It is believed one of the two men being sought is wanted in the state of Virginia.”

Booth gave CBS 6 an exclusive jailhouse interview last year when he was arrested on suspicion of having a meth lab.

Booth was sentenced to 10 years with 7 years and 9 months suspended. He was also sentenced to work release and 10 years’ probation.

Investigators in Florida said Booth was on work release when he took his GPS monitoring device off and fled.

“Deputies with the assistance of Flagler County Fire Flight are currently searching the “B” section of Palm Coast for the two men,” the Office said.

This story is developing.
