RICHMOND. Va. — Everyone escaped a two-alarm fire reported Friday morning in Richmond. The fire was reported at an apartment building along the 1100 block of West Avenue, between Harrison and Lombardy Streets, in Richmond’s Fan District.
Firefighters arrived and found a light haze on the second floor. They eventually located fire in the apartment’s attic, Richmond Fire spokesman Lt. Chris Armstrong said.
The cause of the fire was ruled to be accidental, caused by faulty electrical wiring.
The fire was first reported at about 8:54 a.m.
