GOOCHLAND, Va. — The Goochland Drive-In Theater is offering a special event to honor the lives of singer/actor David Bowie and actor Alan Rickman, who both passed away in January.

The off-season event will be this Saturday, January 30, with a Showtime of 6:30 p.m. Gates will open at 3:45 p.m.

The double-feature includes, “Labyrinth,” staring Bowie and “Diehard,” the movie that first introduced most American moviegoers to Rickman.

Admission is $15.00 per vehicle, with a maximum of eight people.

There is also a costume contest where patrons are encouraged to dress up as their favorite David Bowie persona or Alan Rickman movie character. The top three costumes will win prizes.

Since both men died from cancer, the drive-in will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

This weekend’s weather actually works out for the event, with a high of 54 degrees.
