Richmond, Va. -- After highs in the 50s on Tuesday, seasonably chilly air has returned to Virginia. Highs into Friday will remain in the 40s, which is typical for this time of year. Our normal high is 48° and our normal low is 29°.
Warm air will surge back into the area this weekend. Highs on Saturday will make it into the 50s, and many areas will break into the 60s on Sunday. The warmer trend will last into the middle of the week. The last time we had a stretch this warm was around Christmas, when the temperature was above 60° for eight straight days.
A storm system will bring rain to our area on Wednesday, and then there will be another shot of colder air for the end of the week. Our extended computer models continue to show the potential for a more substantial chill for the beginning of the following week.
