RICHMOND, Va. -- Temperatures will likely be near or below freezing again early Tuesday morning. So some refreezing is likely overnight. However, temperatures will rise quickly again Tuesday, with highs around 50°.

A cold front slowly approaching from the west may trigger a few light evening showers, with a higher chance on Wednesday. With somewhat colder air moving in during the day, we might see the precipitation mix with some sleet or snow before ending.

An area of low pressure will ride along the front as it pushes south of us on Thursday. It will likely be too far away to produce any precipitation, but there is a slight risk that some could sneak into our area. If it does, all indications are it would be light rain.

Milder air will return next weekend, with temperatures rising into the 50s on Saturday and to around 60° on Sunday. With overnight lows near or below freezing, the cycle of thawing during the day and refreezing at night could continue until all the snow is gone.
