RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia Commonwealth University Ram’s men’s basketball conference game against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies gets underway at the Siegel Center at 3 p.m. Sunday. The game was rescheduled from Saturday, due to the East Coast being clobbered by a blizzard.

Road conditions in the city and surrounding counties remain poor. The game is however, still starting as planned.

VCU Athletics asked fans to leave plenty of time as they headed downtown. They also warned there will likely be limited parking.

“We encourage fans to leave extra time in traveling to the Siegel Center,” they said. “Due to Winter Storm Jonas we anticipate many roads and uncovered parking areas around the Siegel Center may not be fully plowed prior to today’s 3:00 p.m. men’s basketball game vs. St. Bonaventure.”

City roads around the Siegel Center remain untouched at this time. The Siegel has been cleaned up though, to allow fan access.

Governor Terry McAuliffe implored the public to stay home Sunday and Monday, if possible, to allow VDOT plows to do their job unencumbered. Mayor Dwight Jones also asked city residents to avoid driving, as to allow city plows to tackle primary and secondary roads. The faster they do that, city officials said, the faster they can get to residential neighborhoods.

Virginia State Police, over the duration of this winter storm, has responded to over 6,193 calls for service on Virginia roadways. There have been 1,374 accidents reported and 1,883 calls for disabled vehicles.

For those who want to watch the game from home, it will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.

VCU is currently the only undefeated team in the A-10 conference, at 6-0, and overall 14-5 regular season record.

The Bonnie’s have been on a losing streak and are 4-2 in conference, but 12-5 for regular season. They mostly recently lost to Dayton, 85-79.
