Suspect spotted trying to use stolen credit card in Ashland

RICHMOND, VA. -- Police are asking for the public's help to find a man who stole a coat and credit card from a Richmond restaurant earlier this month.

Richmond detectives released surveillance photos and video of the suspect who pilfered the coat from a restaurant in the 2700 block of West Broad Street at some point between midnight and 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.

Officials said that coat contained several items, including a credit card.

The suspect was then captured on surveillance cameras trying to use the credit card at the Wawa on Sliding Hill Road in Ashland.

The suspect is described as white male who was wearing a yellow sweatshirt, knit cap and sunglasses.
