Big wins for VCU and Richmond

VCU extended their winning streak to 7 straight with an 88-54 rout of Fordham at the Siegel Center. Justin Tillman had a career high 27 points and 11 rebound and Melvin Johnson scored 15 more to move into the top 20 on VCU's all-time scoring list. The Rams improve to 12-5 and 4-0 in the A-10

The Richmond Spiders got 26 points and 16 rebounds from Terry Allen in their 83-61 home win over LaSalle. It is the 28th straight double-figure scoring game for Allen, which is the 8th longest active streak in the NCAA. Marshall Wood added 17 more and ShawnDre Jones scored 16 as the Spiders improve to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the A-10

Virginia Tech tight end Bucky Hodges announced he will be returning to the Hokies for his junior season. Hodges had 40 catches for 530 yards and 6 TDs this year. He had turned in his paperwork for the NFL draft last month, but the draft's Advisory Committee advised him to stay in school.

The basketball Hokies pulled out a 93-91 home win over Wake Forest to move to 11-6 overall.
