RICHMOND, Va. -- It will be mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the low to mid 40s on Monday. Some clouds will arrive overnight and Tuesday will be briefly milder with afternoon temperatures rising to around 50°.

A strong cold front will swing through the region Tuesday evening, possibly triggering a few light rain/snow showers or flurries. The ground might even whiten north and west of Richmond, but no significant accumulation is expected.

A brief shot of bitter cold will arrive on Wednesday. Despite mostly sunny skies, afternoon highs will only be in the low to mid 30s. Overnight lows will dip into the teens and low 20s.
