RICHMOND, Va. -- A vigil was held Sunday for the man who was struck and killed on Jeff Davis Highway while he was walking to get a birthday card for his girlfriend.
Family and friends released balloons-- for 70-year-old Bernard Gusti also known as “Joe,” as they gathered to remember his life.
Gusti died on Christmas Day after he was hit by two cars on the highway.
Family members said he was a veteran who was loved by many in the community.
The drivers involved in the accident are not facing any charges.
