NEW YORK — On January 4, 2015, ESPN anchor Stuart Scott lost a high-profile battle with cancer. A year later, his two daughters are making sure the world doesn’t forget him. Taelor and Sydni Scott have paid tribute to their late dad in a heartfelt video posted Monday for the first anniversary of his death. You may want to have some tissues handy before you hit “play.”

“This last year, we realized the full impact you’ve had on the world, and how important you were to so many,” the Scotts wrote in a letter to their dad accompanying the video on Dear World.

“And in the end, you taught us all how to win — live or die — by how you live, why you live and the manner in which you live.”

In the video, Taelor, 20, thanks her dad for teaching her about photography while Sydni, 16, praises him for coming to all her soccer games.

The video also includes a portion of Scott’s emotional speech at the 2014 ESPYs in which he said, “Taelor and Sydni, I love you guys more than I will ever be able to express. You two are my heartbeat. I am standing on this stage here tonight because of you.”

#DearStuartScott was trending on Twitter on Monday afternoon, with many fans sharing remembrances of the late sportscaster.
