HENRICO, Va. – It’s early. You want coffee. You want donuts. But in your heart of hearts, what you really want is someone to treat you to both, as a surprise.
Traffic reporter Kristen Luehrs and photographer Jason Hicks stopped by Duck Donuts to spread cheer by treating customers to donuts and coffee -- and free hugs.
Many customers were all smiles when they heard Kristen wanted to pick up the bill. Customer after customer, they smiled and laughed and hugged.

“That works, because half of these donuts are going to my cube mates,” said Nicole, when she heard about our request to pay it forward.
