CHESTERFIELD, Va. -- A high-speed chase ended in a fiery crash on Woods Edge Road, Sunday night around 9:30, Chesterfield Police confirmed.
A Chesterfield Police Officer observed a silver Mercedes sedan traveling over 100 mph in the 15700 block of Woods Edge Road.
The officer attempted to stop the Mercedes, which sped away from the scene, traveling north on Woods Edge Rd.
Investigators said shortly thereafter, the driver of the Mercedes lost control and struck a Nissan sedan that was traveling in the opposite direction on Woods Edge Rd.
The Mercedes flipped at least four times before it came to rest in the ditch in the 14400 block of Wood Edge Rd.
According to investigators, the driver then fled the area on foot and was eventually arrested at a nearby residence.
Police identified the driver who led them on the chase as Michael Jackson, of the 1400 block of Cameron Avenue. Jackson was charged with felony eluding police, felony hit and run, reckless driving and driving on a revoked operator license.
The driver of the Nissan and two adult passengers that were riding with Jackson were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
