RICHMOND, Va. -- Beginning with this Sunday's game against Liberty, VCU is increasing security measures at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.

In a statement, VCU said the changes are a part of "our ongoing efforts to provide the safest possible gameday experience at the Stuart C. Siegel Center."

The following items are prohibited for all events at the Siegel Center:

  • Alcohol
  • Backpacks and duffle bags
  • Balloons
  • Coolers, bottles, cans
  • Outside vendor food and drink
  • Laser pointers
  • Artificial noise makers
  • Weapons
  • Tri-pods for cameras
  • Video cameras
  • Animals, in exception to seeing eye dogs
  • Pepper spray

The school said these security measures may result in slightly longer wait times to enter the arena.
