HANOVER COUNTY, Va. -- Paying it forward will not be a problem for the men and women CBS 6 sports director Lane Casadonte honored during the CBS 6 Month of Giving. The CBS 6 news team is in the community all month, helping people through random acts of kindness. We hope those who are helped will be inspired to pay it forward. Lane, with some help from Giovanni's Pizza, provided lunch for Hanover Fire and EMS, dispatchers and law enforcement. The men and women thought they were being called together for a meeting.

"I bring you tidings of great joy," Lane said as he entered the room wearing a Santa hat and carrying lunch. "This is part of CBS 6's Month of Giving. All month long we have tried to go out, find people and help their holidays be a little bit better and encourage them to pay it forward."

"No one pays it forward more than everyone in this room, every single day," Lane continued. "You guys do it without a lot of appreciation sometimes. You guys do it when the rest of us don't. You guys do it when the rest of us won't. We wanted to show our appreciation today for all that you do and all that you will do when the rest of us are home with our families and you are out keeping us safe. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for paying it forward."
