CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- State police tactical units raided a home along the 10700 block of Solaris Court, off Qualla Road, in Chesterfield Thursday afternoon. Neighbors said they saw one man taken into custody. Those same neighbors said police told them to stay inside their homes while the operation unfolded outside.

"I was just overwhelmed with the amount of police," one neighbor who asked to remain anonymous said. "It was like something you would see on television and it’s up in your front yard."

State Police would not offer much comment on the nature of the operation.

"We are executing a search warrant for a possible clandestine lab," Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick. "The incident is under investigation."

Police have not yet confirmed whether anyone was arrested, nor if anything illegal was found inside the home.

"It's a very quiet neighborhood," the anonymous neighbor continued. "We don't have any trouble with anybody. I mean we have teenagers and kids that live here. It's just a normal neighborhood. It's nothing like what happened today. That was the most excitement we've ever had."

This is a developing story. Anyone with additional information can submit a news tip here.
