GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. — Police are working to identify the person found dead in a ditch Sunday along John Clayton Highway in Gloucester. The body was discovered at about 9:46 a.m., according to Virginia State Police.
“A Virginia State Police Trooper was flagged down by a citizen who had discovered an unresponsive male in a ditch off of John Clayton Highway,” Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya said. “Rescue was called to the scene and unknown make subject was found to be deceased. Currently this is an ongoing investigation.”
