STAFFORD, Va. -- An inmate behind bars for the alleged sodomy of a teenage girl now faces murder-related charges after officers said he approached a hitman to murder the teen and her mother.

Tyrone Maurice Warren, age 22, has been charged with two counts of criminal solicitation to commit murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Warren was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, ahead of a January 2016 trial for the alleged sodomy of a 13 year old female; he was charged for that crime in August.

In late November, Detective Bob Parsons uncovered information, as part of an ongoing investigation, that Warren was attempting to pay a sum of money to have the teen and her mother murdered, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office

Warren, calling from the jail, contacted an undercover law enforcement officer who was posing as a “hit man” to broker a deal to kill the two individuals.

Warren was willing to pay $5,000.00 to have the two individuals murdered, according to law enforcement.

Detective went before a Stafford County Grand Jury on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 and Warren was indicted.

“The seriousness of these charges cannot be overstated,” states Sheriff Charles Jett.  “I am thankful that no harm came to the two individuals who were potential victims of this inhumane plot of murder.”

Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the victims in this case and have requested that any court source documents identifying the victims not be released as well.
