ORANGE COUNTY, Florida — A Florida gospel singer said he got worried Sunday when he was pulled over for not wearing his seat belt. TJ Bristol said he asked to get out of the car and told the sheriff’s deputies he was a singer. When they asked him for a song, TJ grabbed his selfie stick and belted one out. The impressed officers let him go with a warning!

“I loved it because it brought us together,” TJ said. “Both of us left smiling. They made my day out there and I’m pretty sure that beautiful song made theirs. It worked out real well.”

In addition to the song, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Bristol gave Corporal Ricks and Deputy Hoagland a “sincere promise to buckle up.”

“God just got me out of this big ticket maybe you should try singing to your police officers, it work for me always remember click it or ticket,” Bristol said.

The Sheriff’s Office revealed the musical interaction was therapeutic for Corporal Ricks, who asked for the song, as this week marked the five-year anniversary of her husband’s line-of-duty murder.
