RICHMOND, Va. — If you know a father who could use financial help this holiday season, nominate them, and maybe they could win a free lunch and $100 gift card.
The opportunity is made possible by mothers helping fathers. The support comes through donations from the Richmond Christmas Mother Fund, to support the work of the local nonprofit First Things First of Greater Richmond.
The nonprofit requires that nominees be from the Richmond area, be at least 18 years of age, and be currently facing economic hardship.
Recipients can only be nominated through a form online at www.fatherchristmasrva.org.
The deadline for nomination is December 17, 2015.
The 15 selected nominees will be notified by Dec. 21 and will be taken out to lunch at the Jefferson Hotel, the very next day, on Dec. 22.
At the luncheon, the chosen fathers will receive their gift cards.
The nonprofit works strengthen families through education. They focus primarily on encouraging healthy marriages, connecting dads with their kids and teaching youth relationship skills.
