RICHMOND, Va. -- In an effort to give back, Joe St. George wanted to surprise some local ice skaters at RVA On Ice in downtown Richmond. Joe wanted to buy tickets for some people to skate at the rink and buy a little hot chocolate on a chilly Sunday afternoon, as part of his CBS 6 Month of Giving contribution.

Joe said he chose RVA On Ice because he wanted to reach as many people as possible, and that’s something he believes he accomplished. He was able to provide kids and families with free ice skating tickets, ice skates, and over $100 worth of hot chocolate.

The smiles on everyone's faces says it all, as Joe handed out hot chocolate to over 30 ice skaters.

All month long, members of the CBS 6 news team will be in the community, helping people through random acts of kindness. We hope those we help will then be inspired to pay it forward. If you've been inspired to pay it forward, click here to share your story.
