The Richmond SPCA is partnering with Priority Automotive to sponsor free pet adoptions through Dec. 18. This is the fifth consecutive year of the partnership, which has provided homes for 1,615 pets.

Starting Thursday December 3, you can adopt a dog or cat with no adoption fee at The Robins-Starr Humane Center, located at 2519 Hermitage Rd.

Every pet available for adoption has been spayed or neutered, is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and is microchipped for permanent identification.

Richmond SPCA CEO Robin Starr said “The unconditional love of a pet is the most meaningful gift imaginable, and it is a gift Priority will give to hundreds of families and individuals across our region this holiday.”

Priority Automotive Richmond President Dave Perno said he is happy he could once again help provide pets a new home this holiday season.

“This is our fifth year working with the Richmond SPCA, and we’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished with this partnership. There are so many dogs and cats in our local shelters that will make wonderful pets and need a nice warm home for Christmas,” Perno said. “We just want to share that wonderful experience with as many as possible,” he added.

To adopt  a pet you must bring photo identification that shows your current address. In addition, all puppies and adult dogs adopted from the Richmond SPCA must leave with an acceptable leash and collar. Every kitten and adult cat must leave our care in a safe and secure cat carrier. If these items are not with you at the time of the adoption, you will need to purchase them in the on-site gift shop.

Adoption fees at the Richmond SPCA are normally $110. For more information about the adoptions click here.

The Richmond SPCA’s adoption center is open daily throughout this program.
