Hazmat responds after parcel from ISIS sent to Richmond Times-Dispatch

RICHMOND, Va. — Late afternoon Richmond Fire and hazmat responded to the Richmond Times-Dispatch after a threatening parcel arrived at the city building.

A parcel was sent to the building, addressed from ISIS, according to Chris Armstrong with the Richmond Fire Department.

An employee took the parcel outside and contacted 911.

The parcel had a picture of Osama Bin Laden and a pig on his back, Armstrong said.

The RTD and nearby buildings were not evacuated.

The fire department investigated the contents and has cleared the scene.

Nothing dangerous was found, Armstrong said.
