HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — A Hanover Sheriff’s deputy received a kind surprise while waiting for his meal at a fast food restaurant this week. The Hanover Sheriff’s Office posted about the act of kindness on its Facebook page.
“He drove up to the window to pay and was informed that the citizen in front had generously paid for his meal,” a Hanover Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said. “We are so privileged to live in such a kind-hearted, generous and supportive community. This act of kindness served as a continual reminder of the wonderful citizens we serve.”
Spokesman Sgt. Terry Sullivan said the sheriff’s office would like to thank the kind citizen whose identify was not known.
“This is another reminder from our community that they truly care for us, as we do them, and that together we want to always make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family,” Sullivan said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose at which fast food restaurant Tuesday’s act of kindness took place. Their Facebook post that detailed the exchange received more than 1,000 Facebook likes.
