HENRICO, Va. – A man is behind bars after a two-month old baby was hospitalized with a severe head injury.

Quinshon Grady is charged with abuse and child neglect for an incident Henrico Police said happened on October 15th.

The 20-year-old man went before a judge Tuesday morning and was officially charged with a crime.

Police would not release many details in this case, or confirm that he is the father of the child.

Staff members at Chippenham Medical Center called police to tell them a two month old baby had been evaluated and suffered a head injury.

Officers confirmed the alleged incident happened in the 3700 block of Whitlock Avenue in Eastern Henrico.

Neighbors living on the block where the alleged incident happened said they were surprised.

“But it surprises me around here…in this neighborhood because people around this neighborhood are mostly retired, quiet people,” said neighbor Charles Green. “Not much going on."

Grady is being held at the Henrico County jail with no bond.

A reporter reached out to Grady but he declined the interview request.

Quinshon Grady is due back in the Henrico Juvenile and Domestic Relations court on December 1.
