NAPLES, Italy – A small labrador who had been doggy paddling for hours in the Gulf of Naples was rescued by a group of sailors in Naples, Italy.

In the video posted toYouTube, you can see the pup come near the boat and then be dragged away by the rushing water. He doesn’t give up though, and swims to the boat until one man on board is able to grab him by the scruff of his neck and pull him onto the boat.

Then a woman on board can be seen cradling the dog and pulling him close to her body to warm him up. She then can be seen kissing him on the head. She then rubs him vigorously and someone brings a towel over to dry him off.

The puppy was taken to the shore shortly after his rescue and warmed up with a hair dryer,  La Repubblica reported.

According to The Daily Mail,  the  dog had fallen off a ferry 20 miles off shore earlier in the day after slipping out of his collar. The ferry had continued on to its destination as the dog swam around hopelessly.

The owner of the pup has been reunited with him and he is reportedly doing well.
