RICHMOND, Va. -- Amanda Wolfe, a 31-year-old mother and Richmond real estate agent, died after she fell from a parking deck at Haxall Point along the Canal Walk, in downtown Richmond last summer. Wolfe was sunbathing on the edge of the parking deck when she fell, her older brother confirmed. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded the investigation into Wolfe's death and ruled it in accidental in nature.

"We never doubted it was accidental, in part because we were aware of the circumstances and background leading up to the event, much more so than the general public and most of her friends," Jon Wolfe said.  He declined to share those circumstances and background details. "We have been greatly touched by all the support and fundraising efforts to support Amanda's son."

Wolfe was alone when she fell, but a witness provided investigators with some details, Jon Wolfe added.

Amanda Wolfe, who was also a well-known bartender at various Richmond restaurants, battled alcoholism during her life, her family confirmed. Jon Wolfe was quick to add his sister had begun to turn things around in the months prior to her death.

Since her death, Wolfe's family established a movement to promote an issue Amanda held dear - blood donation.

"Amanda believed that we always had something to offer each other, no matter what our situation. She was a regular blood donor and fighter for the underdog. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her in a profound way," a post on the Over the Rainbow Movement read. "As Amanda used to say, 'Don't say you have nothing to give. Give blood.' Giving blood is a small thing we can do that can mean life for another person."

Wolfe lived with ADHD and Auditory Processing dyslexia, her mother Mary Lou said following Amanda's death. The Monacan High School graduate had recently joined Keller Williams Realty in an effort to better provide for her teenage son.

"Our family has been devastated by the loss, as have all those upon whom Amanda's light fell. Amanda was a bright star, and touched deeply the lives of all who knew her. She was beautiful and witty, and brought out the best in people. She had a ready smile and infectious laugh. She was a loving mother," the family said in a statement following Amanda's death. "The world has lost something truly precious, and will never be the same for any of us."
