Severe weather is pounding parts of south central Texas, forcing multiple road closures and school closings.

The airfield of Austin-Bergstrom International airport is also closed due to weather, the airport tweeted from its official account.

Nearly 6 inches of rain fell within an hour at the airport, the National Weather Service said.

Some areas received more than 10 inches of rain overnight in some areas and more is expected throughout the Halloween weekend, according to an alert from the National Weather Service.

Pumpkins were seen floating on top of rushing waters near Cypress Creek in Wimberly.

The rising waters forced San Marcos resident Aaron Orozco to have to move his car to higher ground.

“I was just in awe that the water was coming so fast,” he said.

Omar Gallaga posted video of rough road conditions in New Braunfels, showing parts of the Texas Ski Ranch under water.

Residents have been asked not to travel unless forced to flee an area subject to flooding, the National Weather Service said.
