CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — An 11-year-old middle school student could be charged with a misdemeanor after police say she left a threatening message in the bathroom of her Chesterfield County school Tuesday.

Police say the incident occurred at Robious Middle school, located at 2700 Robious Crossing Dr.

It was reported that a threatening statement was found written in a bathroom.

Officers swept the school and nothing suspicious was found. Through their investigation, officers identified an 11-year-old female suspect. Police have requested an intake conference with juvenile court officials to decide whether charges will be filed. If charges are filed it will be for making threats to bomb or damage a building.

Editor’s note: It was previously reported the student has been charged with a misdemeanor, that is incorrect.
