RICHMOND, Va. – The unclaimed wandering hog, dubbed Peter Porker, has been given a foster family for now.

Peter Porker was found roaming the streets of South Richmond two weeks ago.

Richmond Animal Care and Control played host to the hog for a few days. But now they said he has relocated to a foster family.

Peter was connected with his new host family through the Pig Placement Network (PPN).

His owner never claimed him. If Peter was claimed by his owner, they would not be able to live in the city, according to city code.

Someone outside the city will have to adopt him.

A representative of the PPN said that there are several interested families.
