Police identify Henrico man found dead in bloody 8-hour stretch

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Police have announced the identity of a man found dead from gunshot wounds early Thursday. The crime occurred overnight, in a string of shootings that left two dead and three injured, in Henrico, Chesterfield and Richmond. On Thursday, Oct. 22 at approximately 2 a.m. Henrico Police said they responded to the 2500 block of Bromby Street for a “firearm violation.”

Officers located 21-year-old Brandon T. Coe dead and "suffering from gunshot wounds." A suspect in the homicide was identified and is being held on charges in another jurisdiction.

The motive behind the shooting is unknown, and detectives are continuing their investigation.

Coe’s residence was listed as the same place where he was found dead. Police have not yet said whether he was murdered inside the home or outside the home, however, officers were inside the home investigating the crime.

Hours before, there was a double shooting in Richmond's Northside, and one dead and one injured in a Chesterfield shooting.  The Northside shooting happened just after 7 p.m., and both victims were left with life-threatening injuries. The Chesterfield shooting happened just over an hour later, across the street from Virginia State University. One victim suffered a gunshot in the chest and the other victim took gunshots once in each leg. The men were taken to a nearby hospital, where one man died.
