ORANGE COUNTY, Va. — Veterinarians resumed health evaluations on dozens of animals kept at a private Orange County farm Tuesday. The Sheriff’s Office recently opened an animal abuse investigation at the farm following a complaint tip called into sheriff’s deputies, WCAV reported.
While searching the farm Monday, investigators found more than 100 horses, dogs and cats in need of medical care. In addition to the sick animals, investigators also found dead animals.
“It’s rather devastating,” Orange Sheriff Mark Amos told WCAV. “I’ve seen something like this before but not to this magnitude.”
This is a developing story.
