CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Power was restored Thursday afternoon for the more than 2,500 Dominion Virginia Power customers left in the dark earlier in the morning in both Chesterfield and Petersburg. A Dominion Virginia Power spokesman said they suspected an animal, possible a bird, got into the substation and caused the outage.
The outage lasted about 45 minutes, the Dominion spokesman said. Anyone with information about the outage can submit a news tip here.
