HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — She told Virginia Lottery officials “something just told her to go to the store and buy a Lottery ticket.” That why
Susan Trainham said she left her Henrico home late one night instead of getting into bed and going to sleep. She is very happy she followed her gut feeling.

After winning $20 from a lottery ticket she bought at Friend’s Mart on Horsepen Road, she scratched off a $150,000 winner.

“I’m very excited,” she said as she claimed her prize. “This is a blessing and there’s no way to describe it.”

Trainham’s husband was initially upset when he got the late night call from his wife. He was worried something bad had happened.

“I told [her] she shouldn’t be at the store this late at night,” he said.

Trainham won playing the Red, White and Blue Winnings game. She said she would use the money to help pay off her mortgage.
