HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A West End server was arrested for stealing money from customers at a Henrico bowling alley. Caitlin Rae Treadway, 20, added money in the form of extra tips to customers' credit cards at AMF Shrader Lanes, Henrico Police said.

Treadway stole the money, which totaled $125, throughout the month of September, police added.

Her bosses at the bowling alley reported the illegal activity to police.  Treadway was arrested Tuesday night.

The bowling alley is in the process of returning stolen money to customers.

While there is no way to protect yourself from falling victim to this type of crime, Better Business Bureau spokesman Tom Gallagher said, you could quickly catch it after the fact.

"Check your monthly bill you get from Master Card or Visa or American Express," Gallagher said. "Make sure you check that bill up against the receipts that you keep.

Gallagher said this was a perfect example as to why it was important to ask for, and keep, receipts when dining out.

Treadway remains behind bars in Henrico charged with Credit Card Larceny, Credit Card Fraud and Petit Larceny. She declined a request for an interview about her arrest.
