Couple steals purse from baby carriage then goes on $600 shopping spree, police say

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A man and woman are wanted in Chesterfield for stealing a purse left on a baby carriage, then using stolen credit cards to go on a shopping spree. Chesterfield Crime Solvers recently released photos of the suspects in the September 19 crime.

The victim was shopping at the TJ Maxx on Midlothian Turnpike, near Chesterfield Towne Center, when she noticed her purse was missing.

“While browsing through the selection, the victim momentarily left her purse on her baby carriage and returned to find it missing. The stolen purse contained various personal effects, $70 cash and a wallet containing credit cards,” Chesterfield Police said. “The victim’s credit cards were then immediately used across the street at the Target located at 11301 Midlothian Turnpike.”

The couple bought more than $600 worth of merchandise using the woman’s cards, police said. Security cameras captured images of the suspects.
