Canceled Events:

State Fair of Virginia will close at 7pm Thursday, October 1 and will not reopen for the remainder of the season. For more information visit www.statefairva.org.

27th annual 2nd Street Festival cancelled due to forecasts for potentially dangerous weather. Free concert sponsored by Venture Richmond Saturday, October 3rd,5pm  at The Hippodrome, 528 North 2nd Street, feature Con Funk Shun.  Doors will open at 4:30pm and entry will be first come, first served. Also cancelled The unveiling ceremony for the state historical marker honoring the Miller/Eggleston Hotel, scheduled for Friday at 5pm. For more information visit http://www.venturerichmond.com.

KickStigma Charity Kickball Tournament canceled but guests are invited to an indoor party at the Bon Secours Redskins Training Center from 11am – 4pm, There will be music, food, beer trucks, games, prizes from VMFA, Colonial Fitness, Central Virginia Football Association,  Ledbury, Capital Ale, The Pig and Pearl, Genisis Massage and Wellness and take a tour inside of the Training Center!  Save the date for October 1st, 2016. Several Chesterfield County events canceled: Parks and Recreation events, All outdoor athletic activities scheduled by Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation have been canceled, and all outdoor athletic fields maintained by the department are closed through the weekend. Westhampton RVA 2nd annual Party on the Avenues POSTPONED to Sunday, October 18th, noon – 6pm, a free party on Libbie between Patterson and Guthrie Avenues celebrating the Westhampton community. Holy Rosary Youth/Adult Golf Clinic, scheduled for Sunday, October 3rd has been postponed to Sunday, October 11th at First Tee Chesterfield, 6736 Huntingcreek Drive. Clinic starts at 2pm and the 4th annual Bishop’s Cup Golf Tournament is set for Monday, October 12, (Columbus Day) at Stonehenge Golf and Country Club, 1000 Famham Drive, Richmond.  Busch Gardens Williams: Attention annual pass members: the free “fiends” visit to Howl-O-Scream, extending Bring A Fiend Free ticket offer to include the next two Fridays, Oct. 9 and 16.
