RICHMOND, Va. -- Dave Gallagher visited the CBS 6 studio Thursday to talk about the second annual SpeakUp 5k race Saturday, Sept. 12, that honors the legacy of his late daughter Cameron. The 16-year-old died suddenly in March of last year after finishing a half-marathon in Virginia Beach.
Cameron battled depression and her dream was to create a race each year that would help families coping with depression find the resources they need.
The Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation now does just that.
The race will take place at the Carillon Tower at Byrd Park.
