SAVANNAH, Ga -- A Savannah State University student in Georgia was shot and killed late Thursday in the school's student union building, a spokeswoman said.
Christopher Starks, a junior from metropolitan Atlanta, died at a local hospital after an altercation at the union, according to Loretta Heyward, a spokeswoman for the school. The school was locked down late Thursday night while authorities looked for the shooter.
No arrests have been made, Heyward said.
University police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are handing the case.
