Police search for fedora-wearing man who robbed 2 banks within 1 hour

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. Police are searching for a man believed to have robbed two banks within an hour on Wednesday, August 26.

The first was Argent Credit Union branch at 3611 Oxbridge Road at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man entered the bank, approached a teller and passed a note demanding money. The suspect did not display a weapon and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the suspect as a black male, about 20-30 years old. He was wearing sunglasses, a black fedora, a red/orange pullover and dark-colored pants.

This suspect appears to be the same man who robbed the Bank of Southside Virginia branch at 2703 S. Crater Road in Petersburg, at about 11 a.m. today, according to police.

No one was injured during either robbery.
