RICHMOND, Va. – Police are searching for an armed suspect after a break-in at Richmond city council woman Kathy Graziano’s South Richmond home Thursday.

Police are looking for a man in his mid 20's to 30's who broke into her home on Westchester Road near Willow Oaks Country Club around 2:30 p.m.

Someone was in Graziano's home at the time, so the suspect took off. The man was chased, but brandished a gun and ran off.

The suspect was described as a white male between five feet six to five feet eight inches tall with dirty blond hair, balding on top, and scraggly facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt and jeans.

“An unfortunate incident, an armed individual in my house,” Graziano said in a statement to WTVR CBS 6. “No one was injured and the police response was excellent.”

Police said the man did not target Graziano.
