While officers were on scene, a report came in of a second person shot in the same apartment complex, according to police.

Officers responded and found a second man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are actively working leads, and the case remains under investigation.

Neighbors on scene said an argument provoked the shooting. Those witnesses said more than 14 gunshots were fired.

Residents of the apartment complex said gun violence continues to be a big problem for the neighborhood.

Just last month, Richmond Police did a walk-through of the neighborhood, talking with residents. Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham said people have got to cooperate to put a stop to the crimes and gunfire.
